Hoffmann Family of Companies, owners of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have appointed Marcel Braithwaite as the new President of Business Operations. Braithwaite previously spent 14 years with the Houston Astros, where he was Senior VP of Business Operations and led several initiatives, including ballpark renovations and the development of their Spring Training complex.
Geoff Hoffmann, Chairman and Team Governor, expressed enthusiasm for Braithwaite’s role, noting his extensive experience in fan engagement and real estate development. Braithwaite himself stated it was an honor to join the Penguins and highlighted his commitment to fostering a winning culture.
Originally from Rotterdam, Braithwaite is fluent in Dutch and has lived in various places in North America and Europe. He plans to relocate to the Pittsburgh area with his wife before the 2026-27 season. Other executives involved with the Penguins include Greg Hoffmann, Kyle Dubas, and David Hoffmann, who serve as Alternate Governors.
