South Korea has revised its Space Development Promotion Act, reducing the interval for updating its national plan for responding to space hazards from 10 years to five. This change aims to address the increasing risks associated with satellite traffic and solar activity. The Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) stated that the first revised plan will be implemented in 2029, emphasizing the need to enhance public safety and protect national space assets. The agency plans to bolster its space situational awareness, improve warning systems, and expand collaborations both domestically and internationally to better respond to evolving space hazards.
