Rosebud Building Products Receives National Recognition
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – A Native-owned business on the Rosebud Reservation is gaining national attention for its impressive growth, customer service, and contributions to the community. Rosebud Building Products has been honored as South Dakota’s 2026 Hardware All Star by HBSDealer, making it one of 50 independent hardware stores, lumberyards, and home centers selected for this annual award.
Founded by sisters Ellen and Serena Harmon, both enrolled members of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, the business began as a family venture selling lumber from a trailer. It has since evolved into a full-service hardware store, lumberyard, building materials supplier, and equipment rental center.
Rosebud Building Products caters to homeowners, contractors, tribal programs, and other clients across the reservation and surrounding areas, offering services like delivery, free quotes, and equipment rentals. Serena Harmon emphasizes that the business aims to do more than just sell products, focusing on supporting local projects, employees, and community initiatives.
The Hardware All Star award adds to the Harmon sisters’ accolades; in 2025, they were recognized as Rising Stars in HBSDealer’s Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply awards. The company is affiliated with Do it Best Group, a national hardware and home improvement cooperative.
