Israeli Culture Minister Miki Zohar has condemned the documentary “NAZA,” which details alleged genocide in Gaza, labeling it “vile” and “shocking” after it received the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. He announced plans to revoke the citizenship of filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, claiming their work constitutes treason against the state.
The documentary, which runs for 80 minutes, features testimonies from Israeli military personnel about the use of AI technologies for “calculated mass killings” in Gaza. Zohar accused the filmmakers of seeking accolades from “antisemites,” while Abraham expressed hopes that their film would encourage Western governments to impose sanctions on Israel. The film premiered to a 25-minute standing ovation at the festival.
