A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly shooting at employees at an auto shop in Raleigh. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at New Life Auto Care on Renfrow Road, where 54-year-old Elvin Fields from Henderson had previously left his car for repairs.
Upon returning to discuss payment, Fields became upset with the cost and pulled out a gun, firing at an employee and demanding his car keys. He then confronted three employees in the auto bay before retrieving his keys. After receiving them, he reportedly fired another shot into the ground in the employees’ direction before leaving the scene.
Fields was later apprehended by police, who found two guns and a bulletproof vest in his possession. No injuries were reported. He faces 13 charges, including several counts of assault and kidnapping, due to his actions toward the employees. Police indicated that Fields is charged with second-degree kidnapping for moving the employees without their consent to intimidate them.
