Pet of the Week: Waylon
Meet Waylon, a 6-year-old Labrador Retriever mix weighing in at 75 pounds, who is looking for a loving forever home at the Lawrence Humane Society. Known for his joyful spirit and affectionate nature, Waylon has adapted well to various environments, having lived with kids, dogs, cats, and even small animals.
Waylon’s Background
Waylon was cherished by his previous owner since he was a puppy. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control, they had to surrender him to ensure he could find a home where he could thrive. The shelter staff describe him as a “certified best boy” who has displayed nothing but happiness and loyalty during his stay.
Personality Traits
- Energetic and Playful: Waylon loves to explore; he’s known to chase after cyclists and push past small children in his excitement.
- Affectionate: Volunteers have commented on his love for belly rubs and his friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Adventure Seeker: With a nose for adventure, Waylon can be mischievous—he requires a 6-foot privacy fence for his safekeeping.
