The Town of Windsor has purchased 70 acres of land for $6.2 million to preserve it as open space. This land, located near Colorado Highway 257 and Crossroads Boulevard, includes a historic farm and homestead, contributing to conservation efforts, wildlife habitats, and public access to the Cache la Poudre River.
The purchase breakdown includes $3.2 million for the land itself and $3 million for associated water rights. Wade Willis, the town’s open space and trail manager, emphasized the importance of this acquisition in aligning with the community’s vision for long-term open space preservation and recreational opportunities. This initiative aims to benefit both current residents and future generations.
