Nissan North America, in collaboration with Tom Hesser Nissan of Dunmore, has generously donated a 2021 Nissan Sentra to Johnson College to enhance its Automotive Technology and Collision Repair programs. The vehicle was officially presented during a ceremony on September 9, attended by representatives from both Nissan North America and Tom Hesser Nissan, as well as college officials.
This Sentra will serve as a crucial training tool for students aspiring to careers in automotive service and collision repair, allowing them to gain valuable hands-on experience in diagnostic, mechanical, and bodywork skills.
Dean Hesser, owner and president of Tom Hesser Dealerships, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “Supporting Johnson College isn’t just something we do as a business — it’s something our entire family believes in wholeheartedly.” He noted the dealership’s close collaboration with Johnson College’s leadership to ensure that student training aligns with industry requirements.
Additionally, the partnership aids student employment; Tom Hesser Nissan actively recruits graduates from Johnson College for service and technician roles. The donated vehicle will be integrated into both programs’ curricula, providing students an opportunity to work on a modern vehicle under expert supervision.
