Zomato Sees 7.5% Increase in Healthy Food Orders, Boosted by Younger Customers | Company Updates

The demand for healthy food options on Zomato has been steadily increasing. As of 2026, healthy dishes made up 7.5% of orders, up from 5.3% in 2024. This growth is especially prominent among younger consumers, with the share of healthy orders rising from 3.9% to 6.4% among those under 25.

Sahibjeet Singh Sawhney, Zomato’s marketing head, noted the broader trend of consumers becoming more health-conscious, looking closely at ingredients and nutritional content. To cater to this demand, Zomato has introduced “Healthy Mode,” launched in September, which helps users find restaurants and dishes focused on health. This feature has seen significant engagement, with 60% of users revisiting within a month. In the past year, Zomato delivered nearly 11 million orders through this feature.

The supply side is also growing; healthy restaurants saw an 18.7% increase in orders in the second quarter of 2026, and the number of healthy food establishments increased by 32% over the past year.

Sawhney emphasized that healthy cuisine is not replacing traditional dishes, but rather adds to the variety of options available to consumers, driven by both customer interest and restaurant participation.
