A small, single-engine plane crashed near Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville Monday morning, resulting in the death of the sole occupant, officials reported. The incident occurred on Columbia Boulevard (State Road 405), between Sisson Road and South Washington Avenue. The pilot, Dr. Michael Hood, was confirmed deceased by his practice in Newport, Tennessee, on Tuesday.
