Honey Art Cafe, a creative hub in Houston, has faced significant challenges over the past two years. Recently, the cafe, located at 1306 North Loop, was temporarily closed due to vandalism, specifically after someone damaged their air-conditioning unit on August 31. Owner Huimiao “Amy” Lin shared that the police managed to capture the suspect, who was caught in the act by a neighbor’s repairman.
Originally opened in 2017, Honey Art Cafe started as a walk-in coffee shop and art studio but shifted to a reservation-based model following a change in ownership and challenges such as the pandemic. Customers can now book sessions for art projects with unlimited coffee.
Despite these hurdles, Lin remains optimistic as the cafe prepares to reopen on September 10 after repairs.
