Looking to Invest Like David Rosenberg? An ETF Launches This Wednesday to Make It Possible

David Rosenberg, a notable economist and founder of Rosenberg Research, is launching a new actively managed exchange-traded fund (ETF) called the Corton Rosenberg Global Macro Fund (ticker: ROSY) on the Toronto Stock Exchange. This fund aims to leverage Rosenberg’s research and the Rosie Model Portfolio, which has seen a return of over 60% since February 2023, despite slightly lagging behind major indexes.

The fund is classified as low-to-medium-risk, focusing on capital preservation rather than high-risk strategies often associated with many ETFs. It will invest across various asset classes—fixed income, equities, commodities, and currencies—aiming for consistent, single-digit annual returns while minimizing volatility. Rosenberg emphasizes a disciplined approach to investment, aiming for stability and sustainability rather than attempting to “swing for the fences.”

David Jarvis, founder of Corton Capital, highlights the synergy between his firm’s operations and Rosenberg’s insights, stating their partnership allows for a unique translation of research into ETF strategies. Both Rosenberg and Jarvis acknowledge the ongoing relevance of the 60/40 portfolio, citing a return to normalized interest rates after years of decline.

Overall, the fund aims to provide a reliable investment option with a focus on generating positive returns while managing risk effectively, filling a current gap in the Canadian ETF marketplace.
