Trivia Nights at Court To Table: A Fun Escape for LSU Students
As LSU students transition from the thrill of football to a week of studying and parking challenges, Court To Table, a pickleball-themed venue and restaurant, is making sure they stay entertained with Trivia Tuesdays. The trivia sessions kick off at 6:30 p.m. weekly, featuring diverse themes such as college sports, 2000s music, and Louisiana history, following a memorable “Friends” themed night.
Stevie Campagna, 21, who has been part of Court To Table since it opened, finds the competitive spirit a highlight of trivia nights. “Taylor Swift’s night was competitive. We saw a few teams turn on each other,” she shared. However, Monique Stafford, 20, sees a different side: “Most nights are filled with laughter and funny answers.” The regular attendees, affectionately known as “the Bills,” make appearances week after week, even when they know little about the trivia subject.
Not limited to competition, trivia nights aim to foster community engagement. For example, the Bills showed up for a Harry Potter night despite knowing little about the topic, just because they enjoy the atmosphere.
In addition to trivia, Court To Table runs sports trivia led by Hunt Palmer from 104.5 ESPN Radio at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Celebrity guest spots, like LSU baseball alumnus Will Hellmers, add special flair to trivia nights centered around LSU.
Weekly events include themed trivia, LSU coaches shows, cornhole, women’s mixers, and live music performances, such as those by Alex Hannagan and Blue Crab Redemption. For newcomers to pickleball, the venue offers free lessons on Mondays.
In support of LSU students, there’s a 26% discount on bills (excluding alcohol) every Monday night with a student ID. For those hesitant to dive into the trivia fun, a Jeopardy night on Oct. 6 will offer a mix of topics as an introductory experience.
