The Challenger Learning Center of Maine recently held a space-themed networking event in Bangor called “Bangor Greendrinks.” This gathering aimed to unite community members for an evening focused on sustainability and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) innovation.
Attendees participated in various activities, including virtual reality trips to the International Space Station and racing drones through an indoor obstacle course. Guests enjoyed networking opportunities over local craft beers and had the chance to stargaze outside.
Kirsten Hibbard, the Executive Director of the center, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating the center is open to people of all ages. They aim to raise awareness of the resources available at the Challenger Center, encouraging participation through volunteering, donations, or spreading the word.
