Tatyana Ali is making her return to primetime television as a contestant on Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars, partnering with professional dancer Jan Ravnik for the competition. The announcement was made during a live reveal on Good Morning America, which also featured a special reunion moment with her former co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, a host on the show.
The new season kicks off with a two-night premiere on September 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, and episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day. Alongside Ali, the celebrity lineup includes notable figures such as Julia Stiles, Jenna Dewan, and Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn.
Ali, who rose to fame as Ashley Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has extensive experience performing before audiences, with early appearances on Sesame Street and success as a recording artist. Her debut album, Kiss the Sky, achieved gold status and included the hit single “Daydreamin’.”
She has received five NAACP Image Awards and has a diverse career in television, film, and theater, including roles in The Young and the Restless and Abbott Elementary. In addition to her entertainment career, Ali graduated from Harvard University and is an advocate for Black maternal health.
