Jaguar Land Rover has announced it will cut 4,000 jobs globally over the next two years to achieve £1.7 billion ($2.3 billion) in savings amid rising competition from Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers. The British automaker, which employs around 34,000 people in the U.K., plans to invest £15 to £18 billion ($20-24 billion) over five years in electrification and technology advancements. This decision comes as the company faces slumping profits, a recent cyberattack that halted production, and the impact of U.S. import tariffs on British-made cars. The U.K. government has stated it will not consider a bailout for the company amidst these challenges.
