Atlantic Glass & Mirror
- Location: 3613 Neuse Blvd, New Bern
- Status: Open for business with a new sign.
- Note: The original store in Morehead City is still operational and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Bamboo Quick and Fresh
- Location: 3820 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, New Bern
- Status: Final touches being completed; expecting to open soon, possibly within a week after passing inspection.
El Patio
- Location: Former Country Biscuit on Broad Street
- Status: Nearly ready to open; awaiting installation of a kitchen hood, which may delay opening by another week or two.
Smithfield’s
- Location: Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, New Bern
- Status: Construction is ongoing but delayed due to weather. Expected to be operational by the end of October.
City of New Bern Projects
- New Parking Lot: Near the traffic circle and Neuse River; paving expected soon.
- Permanent Bathroom: Construction to begin soon between the parking lot and new fishing pier.
- Crosswalk Improvements: Among upgrades at Pollock and Middle Streets.
- Bear Plaza: New pavers being installed where the bear statue used to stand.
The Middle
- Location: Former Pinky’s location on Middle Street
- Status: Window art installed; aiming to open by the end of fall as a tapas restaurant.

- Status: Concepts are settled, and interior construction is ongoing. More details on the name and concept are expected in the next month or two.
New Bern Coffee Roasters
- Location: Corner of Middle Street and South Front Street
- Status: Celebrating its one-year anniversary. Plans to reopen the rooftop area for breakfast dining.
Down East Tire Center
- Location: 4422 U.S. 70 (former Mike’s Auto shop)
- Status: Open since August 3; focuses on general maintenance.
Sheetz and Wawa

- Construction initiated at MLK and Glenburnie Road, next to Zaxby’s.
- New building planned in Holly Ridge at US 17 and NC 50.
