Footprints Shoes & Accessories, a beloved family-owned business in Newington, will close its doors at the end of October after nearly 50 years of operation. Located at 79 Costello Road, the store opened in 1979 and moved to its current location in 1995.
Owner Scott Cohen noted the decision to close is bittersweet but necessary due to challenges in the retail industry. The store’s final day of operation will be October 31, depending on inventory availability, with significant discounts currently offered on remaining stock.
Cohen expressed gratitude towards the community and customers, highlighting the emotional farewell and potential plans for a smaller focus on comfort and athletic footwear in the future.
