Philippine Airlines Expands FurPAL Program
Travel News
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced that cat owners can now bring their pets into the cabin on domestic flights, expanding its previously limited service for small dogs. This change comes under the updated “FurPAL” program, allowing passengers to travel with one small cat or dog for a one-way fee starting at ₱2,500 (approximately $44), contingent on size and health requirements.
Key Guidelines:
- Carrier Requirements: Pets must be kept in a soft-sided, leak-proof carrier that fits under the seat in front.
- Health Documentation: Passengers are required to present:
- A valid veterinary health certificate
- Updated anti-rabies vaccination records
- A shipping permit from the Bureau of Animal Industry
- A signed liability waiver
- Booking Notice: The in-cabin pet service must be requested at least 48 hours prior to departure.
PAL states that this initiative aims to make pet-friendly travel more accessible, allowing passengers to enjoy their journeys with their furry companions.
