Contract Details:
- DaRon Bland: Converted $10.75 million of his 2026 salary into a signing bonus, saving $8.6 million this year but increasing his future cap hits by $2.15 million each year for the next four seasons.
- Kenny Clark: Had an $8.8 million roster bonus restructured in March, and $7.5 million of his 2026 salary was converted, reducing his current cap hit to $6.7 million. This will add $1.5 million to his cap charge in each of the following three void years.
- Jake Ferguson: Hoisted $6 million of his 2026 salary as a signing bonus, saving $4.8 million this year and increasing future cap hits by $1.2 million over the next three years plus a void in 2030.
The Cowboys now hold over $25 million in cap space, ranking fifth in the NFL. Restructuring contracts is becoming a common tactic among teams for budget management. With the ability to roll over unused cap space, the Cowboys could plan further restructures, setting them up for more financial flexibility in the future and potentially maximizing savings for the 2027 season.
