LAS VEGAS — Primm is gearing up for a bustling Labor Day weekend as travelers pass through on their way to and from Las Vegas. With long-time operators having exited this summer, local businesses faced uncertainties. However, FOX5 reports that many establishments are still operational for the holiday under new management.
Visitors Return for the Holiday
Many vacationers flocked to Primm to kickstart their Labor Day weekend. Ruth Arriaga, a regular gambler at Primm Valley Resort and Casino, shared, “This is like our second home. We’ve been coming for years.” Another visitor, Leslie Williams, noted, “We come down to play the lottery… Happy to see it open again.”
New Ownership Moves Quickly
In response to the previous management’s departure, the Primm family quickly partnered with Terrible’s to sustain local businesses. Corey Clementson, President of Primm South Real Estate Co., voiced concerns about rising costs in Las Vegas, calling for a return to more affordable vacation options in Primm.
Terrible’s reported a steady increase in customers, with improvements such as the reopening of the hotel pool and Pete’s Steakhouse enhancing the guest experience. Bryan Breeden, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, mentioned the successful launch of a new gaming promotion and plans for expanded amenities.
Future Prospects for Primm
While business in the area remains vibrant, the fate of Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s Resort and Casino is still uncertain. Officials are also looking to revive concert events in the future.
