Mahomes Sr. requests change to probation terms to allow travel for NFL games.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. is seeking court approval to travel out of state to attend seven NFL games featuring his son, Patrick Mahomes Jr., the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback. He filed a motion in the 7th District Court in Tyler, Texas, detailing his request to travel to games in Kansas City, Las Vegas, and Cincinnati.

The court documents indicate that Mahomes Sr. is currently on probation and understands he must undergo urinalysis testing both before and after his travels. He has completed 160 hours of community service and finished a 16-week outpatient treatment program for substance abuse. His compliance with probation has been verified, and he is monitored with an ankle device. Despite these efforts, he remains on probation for an additional two years due to a previous violation involving alcohol consumption.

Mahomes Sr. had previously requested the replacement of his ankle monitor, citing health issues caused by the device. He is on probation after pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated in 2024.
