Geauga Park District Announces Date for Fifth Annual ‘Space Race’ Event

Geauga Park District’s Fifth Annual “Space Race”

Date: October 3
Time: 4 PM – 6 PM
Location: Observatory Park, 10610 Clay St., Montville Township

Join the Geauga Park District for the fifth annual “Space Race” where participants can run, jog, or walk as many laps of the Planetary Trail as they wish. Each 0.85-mile lap will take you on a journey through the solar system—one lap to Mercury, two to Venus, and so forth. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun activity, everyone of all ages and abilities is welcome to set their own goals.

  • Registration: Open now for $20 per participant Register here. Space is limited and T-shirts are available for the first 250 registrants, so sign up early!

  • Awards: Everyone who completes at least one lap will earn a medal and receive a ribbon recognizing their achievement. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers.

Course Details:

  • Flat aggregate surface
  • Chip-timed for two hours by GCXC
  • All 16 laps total 13.6 miles, just over a half marathon
