The materials supply chain is gearing up for new regulations on end-of-life vehicles, with Envalior showcasing its advancements in polyamide 6 (PA6) at Fakuma 2026. The company, in collaboration with SECARA, a recycling technology firm, is developing a circular PA6 route that aims to meet EU recycled-content requirements.
At the event, which runs from October 12 to 16 in Friedrichshafen, Envalior will highlight various materials for electric vehicles (EVs), including those designed for data centers, radar systems, and drones. Notably, SECARA’s catalytic depolymerization process yields high-purity caprolactam, ensuring performance that rivals virgin PA6.
Additionally, Envalior is introducing a bio-based polyphenylene sulfide grade, Xytron B-MB, derived from used cooking oil and certified by ISCC PLUS, enhancing their sustainability offerings.
Thomas Brackemeyer, Envalior’s VP of Commercial Europe, emphasized the importance of collaborating closely with customers to develop innovative solutions that address changing market demands and regulatory landscapes.
The showcased EV-specific materials encompass flame-retardant systems, terminal blocks, busbar components, and e-motor insulation, including a Stanyl PA46 solution optimized for ultrathin e-motor insulation, which enhances torque density without increasing the motor’s size.
