Downtown Jackson Celebrates Diversity at “First Fridays: Cultural Crossroads” Event
JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – Downtown Jackson hosted its September “First Fridays: Cultural Crossroads” event, bringing together families and residents at Jackson Walk and The Local for a night filled with cultural performances, international cuisine, and local art vendors.
Sponsored by the Jackson Energy Authority and the Tennessee Arts Commission, the event aimed to connect the community through the sharing of global traditions.
Beth Ann Simpson, director of downtown development, mentioned that the event features a new theme each month. “This month is Cultural Crossroads, celebrating various cultural events, including Hispanic Heritage Month, the African Street Festival this weekend, and the upcoming Jackson International Food Arts Festival,” she shared.
Organizers noted that the strong turnout reflects a growing appreciation for diversity and connection in the Hub City.
