NASA astronauts from the Artemis II mission visited Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi, to express gratitude to the workers who supported their mission. The crew, consisting of Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, toured the facility and the Fred Haise Test Stand, where critical testing of RS-25 rockets takes place.
Stennis officials emphasized the importance of every role in America’s lunar return, stating that the visit served as a reminder of collective contributions to space exploration. The astronauts also visited the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, which is vital for NASA rockets from production to launch.
The Stennis Space Center continues testing rockets for future Artemis missions; the last Artemis III rocket was recently sent to Kennedy Space Center.
