NASA astronauts from the Artemis II mission recently visited the Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi, to see where the equipment used for their journey was tested. During their stop, astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen expressed gratitude to the center’s staff for their contributions to the mission. They toured the Fred Haise Test Stand, used for testing RS-25 rockets, crucial for ensuring safe flights.
In a social media post, Stennis officials highlighted the importance of the entire team in achieving the monumental feat of returning to the Moon. The astronauts also visited the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans East the same day, which plays a pivotal role in rocket production. The Stennis Space Center continues to be instrumental in rocket testing for the Artemis missions.
