Lydia’s Boutique Debuts in Previous Hughes Gift Gallery Location

Lydia’s Boutique Grand Opening: A New Chapter in Community Retail

Lydia Chiazza is thrilled to welcome customers to the grand opening of Lydia’s Boutique on National Road. This new store, which replaces Hughes Gift Gallery, marks a significant transition for Chiazza, who, after three years as a stay-at-home mom, identified an exciting opportunity in the real estate listing sent by a relative.

When she spotted the message, she not only shared it with her husband, Tony Chiazza, but they quickly agreed to explore the opportunity. “It just felt right,” Lydia recalled, highlighting the timing was perfect for this new venture.

The Chiazzas invested approximately $500,000 into renovating the boutique, restoring original flooring and updating the overall aesthetic with fresh paint and new wallpaper. The store is set to offer a variety of products including home goods, clothing, and children’s items. In addition, Lydia plans to expand the inventory with jewelry, accessories, and fashionable apparel.

Though Mary Beth Hughes, the previous owner, has sold the building, she remains a significant presence, leasing space for interior design consultations. Lydia appreciates the mentorship provided by Hughes, which complements her 15 years of experience in retail management and buying roles.

On opening day, Lydia expressed a mix of emotions: “I’m overwhelmed, but I feel great.”

Store Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Lydia’s Boutique anticipates launching its website soon, offering options for curbside and in-store pickup, as well as delivery services.
