House Fire in Orange County Claims Lives of Eight Cats
A fire broke out early Thursday morning on Lake Jessamine Drive in Orange County, resulting in the tragic death of eight cats. Around 3:30 a.m., Orange County Fire Rescue firefighters responded to the incident, discovering two dogs and 25 to 30 cats within the home.
While the two dogs emerged unharmed, five of the surviving cats were surrendered to Orange County Animal Services due to poor condition. The residents will seek veterinary care for the remaining cats.
Details regarding potential injuries to the residents have not been disclosed, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
