New Pet Food Company Launched in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD — Hatching Time, a Delaware-based poultry incubator and coops provider, has announced the launch of Oldfield Pets, a new supplement food company for dogs and cats, based in Fairfield.
Founded in late 2025 by Co-CEOs Ryan Flanagan and Yagiz Aksu, alongside seasoned pet industry expert Clayton Payne, Oldfield Pets aims to provide clean, transparent nutrition to pets at affordable prices.
The decision to start Oldfield Pets stemmed from an interesting observation: nearly 90% of poultry keepers also live with cats or dogs, yet find it challenging to find pet food that meets the high standards they uphold for their poultry.
Ryan Flanagan shared that his personal experience with his rescue dog, Hazel, sparked the initiative. He noted how difficult it was to find reasonably priced treats and supplements with recognizable ingredients.
Origin Story
“It all came together when Yagiz and I discussed my concerns about Hazel’s diet, while Clayton brought in his extensive experience in the pet industry,” Flanagan explained. The name “Oldfield Pets” is derived from Oldfield Road in their Fairfield neighborhood, which holds sentimental value as Hazel’s first home.
Product Offerings
The launch includes Oldfield Naturals, a line of single-ingredient treats and chews made from five protein sources: chicken, duck, deer, beef, and rabbit. Additionally, they introduced Karnlea, a family of powdered food toppers aimed at addressing common pet health issues.
“We’re committed to the farm-to-table philosophy for households without a farm,” Aksu said, emphasizing simplicity and genuine quality without the high price tag.
Clayton Payne also noted the importance of discipline in sourcing and refused to include unnecessary ingredients, stating, “That’s how trust gets built.”
Availability
Oldfield Pets products are available online at OldfieldPets.com, and through major retailers including Tractor Supply Co., Petco, Chewy, Amazon, and Walmart, with plans for distribution to independent pet retailers and feed stores through their wholesale program.
Hatching Time continues to innovate in poultry equipment, serving a diverse customer base, including homesteaders, breeders, and educators.
