An Alabama woman, Brandi Leann Tyrrell, 41, was arrested after authorities discovered several dead cats and other abandoned animals at her grooming business, JoJo’s LaundroMutt, in Midland City. The Dothan Police Department responded on August 20 following complaints about a strong odor coming from the business. Upon investigation, animal control officers found several deceased cats and other animals that had been left unattended for around a month.
The business had reportedly been without active utility service since June, and witnesses noted that Tyrrell hadn’t been seen for approximately three weeks. She faces multiple charges, including six counts of animal cruelty and two counts of first-degree cruelty to a cat. As of now, details about the number of animals recovered or their condition have not been disclosed. Authorities are seeking further information and encourage anyone with tips to contact them.
