General Motors President Mark Reuss has been chosen to receive the 2026 Industry Leader Award in OEM from the Automotive Hall of Fame. This award, presented by Lear, recognizes him for his significant contributions to automotive engineering, product development, and leadership at GM. The award ceremony will take place on September 29th during the Automotive News Global Congress in Detroit, where Lear President and CEO Ray Scott will present the honor.
Reuss will then participate in a fireside chat with KC Crain, discussing automotive leadership and industry innovation. The Industry Leader Award has a history of honoring influential executives, including notable figures like Alan Mulally and Carlos Ghosn.
Sarah Cook, President of the Automotive Hall of Fame, praised Reuss for his impactful leadership and engineering expertise. Reuss acknowledged his team’s crucial role in his achievements, stating, “We win – and have always won – as a team.”
Having joined GM in 1983 and transitioning to president in 2019, Reuss oversees global operations amid changes in the automotive landscape. The upcoming event will further highlight his extensive career and leadership in the industry.
