The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a man named Daniel Le Brun, 42, from Cornelius, who faces serious charges including sexual abuse and attempted murder. The investigation began when a victim under 18 reported an assault near North Adair Street.
Deputies found Le Brun barricaded in a business at the Plaza Grande complex, armed with weapons, and he refused to surrender. A tactical team eventually took him into custody after he consumed a harmful amount of medication.
Investigators discovered a hidden room in the business where Le Brun allegedly committed crimes, leading them to believe he had access to children through his memorabilia business. They suspect there may be more victims and urge anyone with information to contact detectives at the provided number.
