Mitsubishi Motors introduces the brand-new Pajero in Thailand.

Mitsubishi Motors is reentering the premium SUV market with its fully redesigned Pajero, marking the first new generation since the fourth version launched two decades ago. Set to roll out in fiscal 2027 across around 100 markets, this seven-seat SUV features a 2.4-litre clean diesel engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC).

With a history of selling 3.29 million units since its debut in 1982, the Pajero will enhance off-road capabilities with seven selectable terrain modes that optimize S-AWC’s integration of various driving controls. Safety features include eight airbags (notably a new center airbag), forward collision mitigation, and highway assistance technology (MI-PILOT).

Inside, a 14.3-inch dual-screen display refreshes the traditional gauge cluster, adding a modern touch to the vehicle’s interior.

President Keisuke Kishiura highlighted the Pajero as a flagship model that embodies the company’s Mid- to Long-Term Vision for the 2030s, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and reinforce Mitsubishi’s unique brand identity. The firm plans to gradually introduce the new Pajero, hoping it will be well-received globally.
