Pizzeria Delores Opens in Scott’s Addition
A year-old pizza pop-up has transformed into a permanent location in Scott’s Addition, with Pizzeria Delores opening recently at 3001 W. Clay St.
Founders and Menu
Founded by Max Sayer and Jacky Welch, the pizzeria specializes in Sicilian-style square pizzas featuring thick crusts and aged mozzarella. The interior pays homage to 1980s pizza parlors, adorned with wood-paneled walls and vintage Schlitz Beer chandeliers.
Specialties
Noteworthy pizzas include:
- D-Lo Special: Italian sausage, onion, and peppers
- House Pie #1: Topped with pepperoni, ricotta cheese, and jalapeños
Pizzas range from $21 to $35, and the pizzeria also offers a build-your-own option. Each pie comes with house-made ranch.
Drinks and Hours
The drink menu features limited cocktails, beer, and wine, including a draft Lambrusco. Current hours are Thursday to Sunday, from 5 to 10 p.m., with plans for expansion.
Community Impact
Pizzeria Delores is the second pizzeria to launch in Scott’s Addition this year, following the opening of a Benny’s location, and complements the local pizza scene that includes Pizzeria Mungo and Timber Pizza.
