MegaFit Meals Expands Operations in Calvert City, Creating 40 New Jobs

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Marshall County-based meal prep company MegaFit Meals is set to expand its Calvert City operations with a $9.25 million investment, announced Governor Andy Beshear. This expansion will create 40 new jobs.

Founded and headquartered in Marshall County, MegaFit Meals is a USDA-certified company that currently employs over 100 people. “I couldn’t be happier to see MegaFit Meals continue its remarkable growth in Calvert City,” said Calvert City Mayor Gene Colburn. “Their transformation from a local business to a nationally recognized food brand is impressive.”

The new expansion will include a 40,000-square-foot food manufacturing facility located near its current operations. Jobs created will span food manufacturing, logistics, and administrative roles. CEO Vasili Georgiou expressed excitement about the company’s growth trajectory and community roots.

“MegaFit Meals exemplifies how a local business can grow while staying committed to the community,” stated Elizabeth Griffith Mudd, president of Kentucky Lake Economic Development. “We’re proud they chose Marshall County for their expansion.”

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has also preliminarily approved a 10-year incentive agreement under the Kentucky Business Investment program, providing up to $250,000 in tax incentives based on the company’s investment and annual targets, including maintaining the new full-time jobs with an average hourly wage of $25.01.

If MegaFit Meals meets its targets, it may be eligible to retain part of the new tax revenue it generates. Additionally, the company can access resources from Kentucky’s workforce service providers, such as recruitment services and job training incentives.

Marshall County Judge/Executive Kevin Spraggs emphasized the significance of this expansion, highlighting the strength of the local workforce and the supportive business environment. “We appreciate MegaFit Meals’ commitment to our community,” he said.

Governor Beshear expressed pride in Kentucky businesses flourishing, thanking MegaFit Meals for creating new job opportunities and their commitment to the state’s growth.
