It’s well established that rebalancing can be a suboptimal choice when managing risk… except when considering the alternatives. While it isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution (nothing ever is), poor execution can result in complications. Nevertheless, when combined with a sensible asset allocation strategy and a regular schedule for adjusting weights, rebalancing remains a preferred method for managing portfolio risk.
