Lori Loughlin Returns to Instagram After College Admissions Scandal
Lori Loughlin is back on Instagram, teaming up with her former “Full House” costars for her return. The actress, now 62, shared her first post on August 31, following her release from prison related to the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal.
In a joint video featuring five of her former costars—including Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, and John Stamos—Loughlin participated in a nostalgic “Wake up, San Francisco!” shoutout, recalling her character’s role on the original show. The video also included archival footage of Bob Saget and a clip where Loughlin humorously welcomes herself back.
Loughlin’s caption read, “Wake up, San Francisco! I’m back on IG.” Her comeback post has gathered supportive comments, including one from Kelly Rizzo, Saget’s widow.
The actress had previously deleted her social media accounts in 2019 after being charged in the scandal, where she and her husband paid $500,000 in bribes for their daughters’ admission to USC. Loughlin served two months in prison and was released in December 2020.
Since then, she has made gradual returns to acting, including reprising her role in “When Calls the Heart” and appearing in other projects. Stamos publicly defended Loughlin in a podcast, emphasizing that he believed Giannulli was mainly responsible for their actions.
Loughlin’s journey continues as she prepares for her next role in the Hallmark film “Garage Sale Mysteries: Murder Takes the Stage,” set to air on September 19.
