Salesforce has announced a significant investment of USD 1 billion in Switzerland over the next five years to enhance the country’s AI capabilities. This commitment, revealed by Chair and CEO Marc Benioff in Geneva ahead of the AI for Good Global Summit, aims to support local workforce development, assist Swiss customers and partners, and promote AI skills across the nation.
Geneva’s strategic importance in international AI governance is highlighted by its hosting of key organizations like the International Telecommunication Union and the World Economic Forum. In 2027, Switzerland will host the Global AI Summit, where Benioff will co-chair the inaugural meeting of the AI for Good Global Commission alongside prominent world leaders.
Salesforce, which established its first Swiss office in 2004, now operates in Zurich and Lausanne, serving over 1,000 customers and collaborating with more than 100 local partners. The company supports over 480 Swiss nonprofits and educational institutions.
The investment will enable organizations in various sectors, including banking, life sciences, and energy, to adopt Salesforce’s Agentforce platform, integrating people, AI agents, and data. Salesforce is also involved in local workforce initiatives, contributing more than USD 7.5 million in grants to support nonprofits and educational institutions in Switzerland.
