The Indigenous Arts Initiative in Lawrence, partnering with the University of Kansas, will host two prominent Indigenous artists for free public workshops in September.
Featured Artists
- Rhonda Holy Bear: An award-winning Lakota artist from the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, known for her sculptural figures, wood carving, porcupine quillwork, beadwork, and painting that reflect Lakota history and philosophy.
- Stacey Rice: A casting director with over 14 years in the industry, specializing in Indigenous casting. She has collaborated with various Native directors and worked on shows like “Reservation Dogs.”
