Jenerise Launches SGS-Certified Creatine

Launched in 2024 by the father-daughter team of Steve and Rachael Jennings, Jenerise is a UK-based company specializing in ingredients and supplements. Their mission is to educate consumers about the advantages of creatine while offering a premium creatine monohydrate that boasts a smooth texture and a neutral flavor.

Cr.01 aims to provide high-purity creatine produced under stringent manufacturing standards and independently verified for each batch. This ingredient adheres to international quality and safety benchmarks, including compliance with FDA (USP) and EFSA guidelines.

With an established distribution network across significant global markets, Jenerise’s Cr.01 benefits from exclusive partnerships. Fayrefield Nutratek handles distribution for the UK and Western Europe, while Osage Food Products oversees North America. Pathway International manages distribution efforts in Australia and New Zealand, Solo Africa takes care of South Africa, and Swisla Distribution facilitates distribution in Central and Eastern Europe.

Creatine Expands from Sports Supplement to Cognitive and Longevity Ingredient

Co-founder and CEO Steve Jennings was instrumental in introducing creatine monohydrate to Olympic athletes over thirty years ago.

“I first introduced creatine monohydrate to Olympic athletes in 1992,” Jennings explained. “For three decades, I’ve seen the category stall in its growth. Scientific research has broadened to include cognition, brain health, aging, and women’s health, but the market has primarily targeted a narrow group of gym enthusiasts.”

Partnering with his daughter Rachael, the chief brand officer, he founded Jenerise to reposition creatine as a scientifically validated wellness ingredient for a wider audience. The company has now launched Cr.01, broadening its health applications beyond just sports performance.

Creatine is derived from amino acids—glycine, arginine, and methionine. This naturally occurring compound is found in small quantities in meat and fish and is primarily stored in the muscles and brain, where it enhances rapid energy production by regenerating ATP.

Research suggests that increased creatine intake is associated with improved cognitive function, reduced rates of depression, and a lower risk of heart and liver diseases, along with decreased cancer rates and overall mortality.

Additionally, it may enhance memory, reaction time, and cognitive abilities, particularly in stressful situations or among older adults. Studies also indicate that low-dose supplementation may alleviate mood swings, increase energy levels, and reduce “brain fog” in menopausal women, who typically have lower creatine reserves. Furthermore, it is under investigation for its potential benefits in neuroprotection and healthy aging, including maintaining muscle mass and metabolic health when paired with exercise.

“Creatine has been grossly underrepresented in human nutrition for the last thirty years,” Jennings emphasized. “The evidence is remarkable—encompassing energy, cognition, healthy aging, and neuroprotection—and yet it has largely eluded those who could benefit the most.”

“Jenerise Cr.01 provides the ingredient that empowers brands to share this larger narrative.”

Creatine Cr.01 Targets Ultra-Purity Market

Cr.01 is produced in a state-of-the-art facility and undergoes independent verification on a batch-by-batch basis by SGS, a Swiss-based testing, inspection, and certification company.

This ingredient ensures a content assay of 99.96% while closely monitoring for trace chemical impurities often found as by-products during creatine production. Dicyandiamide (DCD) is restricted to merely 7 ppm, with no detectable cyanide or dihydrotriazine (DHT).

“DCD, cyanide, and dihydrotriazine are impurities that should not be present in a substance people consume daily for long periods,” Jennings asserted. “Jenerise Cr.01 was constructed to meet the high standards I’ve always envisioned. We had SGS validate it lot by lot, so consumers can have complete confidence in its quality.”

Designed to dissolve in just 30–40 seconds without residue, this creatine features a 200 mesh particle size to ensure a smooth texture and neutral taste. It is suitable for various formats, including powders, ready-to-drink beverages, gummies, capsules, tablets, chews, and other functional food products.

“We’re creating the GORE-TEX of creatine—the benchmark that premium brands will choose and consumers will learn to recognize,” Rachael Jennings commented. “The supplement industry is long overdue for a precision-grade standard, and Jenerise Cr.01 represents that standard.”

Surging Demand for Verified Creatine Monohydrate

As Rachael Jennings shared with NutraIngredients, this launch aims to fill a gap that Jenerise hadn’t initially anticipated: the growing demand for high-quality, thoroughly verified creatine monohydrate with reliable supply and stringent quality control.

“When we launched last June, we thought liquid-stable creatine was the primary gap in the market,” she said. “What we didn’t foresee was the enormous demand for quality monohydrate from brands and companies needing reliable supply, verified third-party testing, and a compelling story for their customers.”

Looking ahead, Rachael emphasized that to reshape the conversation around creatine, it requires a rebranding in terms of vocabulary and visual identity.

“Replacing ‘performance supplement’ with ‘daily wellness or energy ingredient’ allows a whole new demographic to see themselves in it… and that demographic represents the majority,” she stated.

“Creatine needs to be discussed in a way that resonates as familiar and accessible, akin to the leading and culturally relevant consumer wellness brands.”

She concluded that using straightforward language, honest storytelling, and offering a dependable supply chain will help transition the ingredient from a niche product to a mainstream essential.
