Two women died and a third was critically injured after being struck by a car in the Allerton section of the Bronx. The incident occurred just before 2:15 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Allerton and Holland avenues, and involved a white Mercedes-Benz that hit multiple vehicles, injuring at least six others.

Surveillance footage showed the Mercedes speeding through the intersection, hitting a group of pedestrians in the crosswalk. Investigators stated that the driver, an 81-year-old man, likely suffered a medical episode that caused him to lose control of the car.

The two deceased women, aged 39 and 57, suffered severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the hospital. A third victim, 84, is in critical condition, while the fourth victim, a 60-year-old woman, is expected to recover. The remaining six individuals involved were occupants of the vehicles struck and are also expected to recover.

All parties remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
