Atlantic Beach acquires portable microchip scanners to reunite lost pets with their owners.

The Town of Atlantic Beach has received handheld microchip readers to aid in reuniting lost pets with their owners. Donated by the Bow Wow Open, these devices will be available at various locations including Town Hall, the Atlantic Beach Police Department, Fire Department, and Public Services Department. During the summer, a reader will also be accessible at the Atlantic Beach Town Park concession stand. Town staff will use these scanners to identify and locate the owners of microchipped pets. Officials expressed their gratitude to the Bow Wow Open for supporting local animals and families through this annual fundraising event held at the park.
