At least nine people were hospitalized after a car barreled through an intersection, hitting multiple pedestrians and vehicles in Allerton. Three individuals are in critical condition. The incident occurred shortly before 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Allerton and Holland avenues.
Surveillance footage shows a white sedan speeding through the busy intersection, striking pedestrians in the crosswalk and colliding with cars waiting at the light. Three pedestrians, all struck by the Mercedes, were taken to Jacobi Hospital and remain in critical condition.
The other six victims, likely occupants of the affected vehicles, were taken to a nearby hospital where they are expected to recover.
The NYPD reports that all parties involved stayed at the scene, and no arrests have been made.
