Orbit Culture has teamed up with Tina Guo for a fresh rendition of “The Path I Walk,” featured on the deluxe edition of their album, “Death Above Life.” The band expressed initial hesitance about collaborating with others, but Guo stood out due to her memorable performance in Stockholm back in 2017.
When the label proposed a guest artist for the track, they playfully suggested Guo’s name, never expecting it to happen. However, their A&R, Mike Gitter, surprised them by saying he knew her.
The band initially programmed her parts using MIDI from her sample library, but her actual performance brought an unexpected depth to the song, significantly transforming it. They were also touched by her humility and kindness throughout the collaboration, noting her lack of ego despite her impressive talent. They feel fortunate to have turned a long-held dream into reality.
