Forvia and Anand Group Establish Joint Venture for Automotive Seating in India

Forvia, an automotive supplier, has partnered with the Anand Group to establish a joint venture (JV) focused on automotive seating in India, aiming for a 10% market share in five years. The new entity, Faurecia Anand Seating India Private Limited, will manufacture seat frames and fully assembled seats.

Details of the transaction value remain undisclosed, but it is expected to finalize by the end of 2026, contingent on regulatory approvals. Control of the JV will lie with Forvia, which will hold 50% plus one share, while the Anand Group’s Gabriel India Limited will hold 50% minus one share.

Forvia CEO Martin Fischer emphasized that this agreement marks a significant step in their growth strategy in India. The JV aligns with Forvia’s local manufacturing approach to meet the growing vehicle production in the region. The initiative will leverage Forvia’s technology and engineering expertise, with Anand Group contributing local manufacturing infrastructure and commercial access to Indian OEMs.

The partnership builds upon a long-standing collaboration since 1991, reinforcing ties between the two companies. Anand Group, valued at $2.6 billion, operates across 92 sites globally, while Gabriel India specializes in ride control equipment and mobility subsystems.

Anjali Singh, executive chairperson of Anand Group, described the JV as a blend of strengths and a commitment to innovation, enhancing their strategic significance in the market. Separately, Forvia has agreed to sell its Interiors Business Group to Apollo Global Management for €1.82 billion ($2.13 billion).
