Jump Scare

Get into the spooky spirit with a cinematic classic brought to life. On Saturday, October 10, the New Orleans Film Society and Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra reunite for Nosferatu (1922): A Gothic Symphony at Jefferson Performing Arts Center. F.W. Murnau’s silent horror film will unfold on the big screen as the LPO performs Hans Erdmann’s haunting score live onstage. Following last year’s sold-out presentation of Frankenstein, the collaboration offers another immersive meeting of film and music. The evening is part of NOFS/365, the Film Society’s growing initiative to present distinctive cinematic experiences year-round. Tickets can be purchased here.

In Loving Memory

After seven years of closure, Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 officially reopened to the public with updated walkways and other improvements this month. To experience the famous cemetery, visitors can book a 90-minute tour with local nonprofit Preservation Resource Center. Tours will be hosted daily (except for holidays like All Saints’ Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day), capped at 16 guests per group, and will focus on the above-ground tombs, historic societies, and notable residents.
