Kansas Health Science University has received a substantial $1.3 million scholarship donation from the Riverside Health Foundation. This funding aims to help more students access higher education, especially as federal legislation has left many short of the necessary funds for medical school. University President Kimberly Long emphasized that the financial support allows students to focus on becoming primary care physicians in rural Kansas, rather than pursuing higher-paying jobs to alleviate financial pressures. Since 2022, the Riverside Health Foundation has already distributed over $400,000 in scholarships.
