South Florida Entrepreneur Reflects on Uruguayan Roots, Dedication, and Resilience

Andres Gonzalez, a South Florida entrepreneur, shares his inspiring journey rooted in Uruguayan heritage, hard work, and a passion for healthy eating. Since his youth, working in his parents’ store in Uruguay, the grocery business has been his life. Upon moving to Miami in 2017, he struggled to find fresh, organic food for his family, leading him to open Kobs Green Market at Plantation Walk.

Gonzalez works tirelessly, often 12 to 15-hour days, fueled by his passion. He emphasizes the importance of community, building strong relationships with customers who visit multiple times a week. His kitchen manager, Carlos Ber, also values the familial atmosphere at the market, bonding over their shared Uruguayan heritage.

Gonzalez acknowledges the challenges of starting a new business in the U.S. but sees it as the land of opportunity. His advice for budding entrepreneurs is clear: be prepared for hard work, make sacrifices, and continue to move forward.
