Nebex Collaborates with Thrusters Unlimited to Secure $700M for Mexico’s Space Industry

Nebex Partners with Thrusters Unlimited for Mexican Space Programs

Nebex, a New York City-based financial-exchange startup founded by former Axiom Space executives Tejpaul Bhatia and Anand Subramanian, has partnered with Thrusters Unlimited, a Mexican manufacturer focused on Earth observation (EO) and space systems. This collaboration aims to secure $700 million for Mexican sovereign space initiatives, encompassing EO, telecommunications, and strategic capabilities to meet national demands.

Collaboration Overview

Under the partnership:

  • Nebex: Manages capital flow through its exchange platform, facilitating procurement and capital management.
  • Thrusters Unlimited: Provides local expertise and connections to procurement programs and suppliers within Mexico’s space industry.

Bhatia describes Nebex as a “clearinghouse for global space procurement,” simplifying international transactions and ensuring payment security for suppliers, even amidst complex financial environments.

Market Context and Future Plans

Despite significant investment in the space sector, the industry has struggled with capital flow management, a gap Nebex aims to bridge. The company facilitates timely supply procurement for prime contractors, allowing them to order essential components ahead of milestone financing.

Since its inception, Nebex has made notable strides, including:

  • A banking relationship with JP Morgan.
  • A $30 million seed round led by Google Ventures.
  • A €100 million initiative in France to connect startups with global buyers.

This Mexican partnership is part of a broader strategy to expand Nebex’s impact across Latin America and beyond.
